I did not see that coming!

In Deuteronomy God is talking about tithing (which is to be expected), and then He says, “Bring your tithe money to the place of God’s choosing, and spend the money on whatever you desire – choice cuts of steak, or succulent lamb shanks, or wine, or strong drink …whatever your appetite craves. And enjoy it amidst rich fellowship with God! And invite under-resourced people (like orphans, widows, and immigrants) to join y’all!”
Revel in the Triple Crown season of Feasting!
The Feast of God’s reckless and lavish forgiveness and mercy (Passover).
The Feast of God’s generous and sustained provision (Deut.8:3;Matt.4:4) (Pentecost/Shavuot).
The Feast of being in the great outdoors (Booths/soap box derby tabernacles).

And you MUST appoint judges and officers in all your towns that will put pressure on you to embrace this emphasis on JOY & Feasting (Deuteronomy 16:18-20)! For example, Nehemiah (the governor/judge) and Ezra (the appointed religious authority/priest) said, “This day is holy to the Lord your God! So… do not weep, but go your way and eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, BECAUSE this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for THE JOY OF THE LORD is your strength.” So the people went their way to eat and drink and to send gifts and generous portions to the poor and to make great rejoicing, BECAUSE they had understood the Words of THE LAW/the Torah (#Shavuot/Pentecost) that were declared to them. Furthermore, as Ezra led the people in studying THE LAW, they realized that God wanted them to play and be dramatically and delightedly dependent (like children), and specifically (and emphatically) God wanted them to go out to the hills and bring branches of olive, wild olive, myrtle, palm, and other leafy trees to make booths, and then God wanted them to CAMP in these SoapBoxDerby/RedBullFlugtag booths for seven days (Nehemiah 8).
