I started following Jesus of Nazareth, and now I’m a bit confused.

All my life I was taught to obey and honor the religious leaders, and the religious leaders have consistently and vehemently provided an authoritative code of conduct for Sabbath-keeping (in the name of “upholding God’s holiness” and “ascribing glory to the Almighty”).

But now I’m following God incarnate, and He claims to be PERFECTLY fulfilling The Law of God …BUT the religious leaders are habitually and vociferously accusing Him of breaking the Sabbath.

Also… a couple of days ago we followed God incarnate to Samaria, and the religious leaders were very displeased with this.

Also… a week ago we followed God incarnate to a house party at Levi’s house, and the religious leaders were extremely dismayed and outraged with us.

The religious leaders have made it very clear that they feel dishonored by us. And that’s confusing to me, because I don’t want to dishonor the religious leaders, but I also don’t want to stop following Jesus of Nazareth.

It’s a bit of a conundrum.
