My friend Mae told me that her favorite part of the Bible is Psalm 46. So I read Psalm 46. And I especially imagined the part where it says, “There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God.” And then I thought what Isaiah said, “I will extend peace to you like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream; and you shall nurse, you shall be carried upon her hip, and bounced upon her knees. As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you.” (Isaiah 66). And then I thought about what Ezekiel saw when he was standing next to the Kebar River (Ezekiel 1); and also the Healing River (Ezekiel 47). And then I thought about the Gangites River where Lydia hung out (Acts 16). And finally, I thought about the river that John describes in Revelation 22.

Rivers are amazing.
