I long for sweet simplicity. Hillary. Trump. Capitalism. Welfare. Political Correctness. Media Insanity. Lots and lots and lots of talking and emotion and mobs when there ought to be listening and curiosity and asking – in the words of Mr. Fox – “What’s the subtext here?” I hunger and thirst for stability and clarity and the simply profound. And to the dismay and frustration of many …it has been revealed to weak, frail, flawed, sinners like me!

Amidst all the confusion, uncertainty, and tumult – here is the simply profound: And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. (1 Corinthians 2:1-5).

“Let faith look on Christ in the Gospel as He is set forth dying and crucified for us. Look on Him under the weight of our sins, praying, bleeding, dying; bring Him in that condition into thy heart by faith; apply His blood so shed to thy corruptions: do this daily.” – John Owen
