King Solomon is like The Count of Monte Cristo. His wisdom is beyond anything the world has ever known. He has a discerning mind, such that none like him has been before, and none like him shall arise after his time (1 Kings 3:12). Not only is he singularly wise, but the Maker also gave him riches and honor such that no other aristocrat or nobleman can come close to comparing with him! He is wiser than all other men, wiser than Ethan the Ezrathite, and Heman, Calcol, and Darda. He also has a faithful servant (named Benaiah) who will do his bidding no matter what, without hesitation, no matter how violent. People stand in awe of him, because they perceive that the wisdom of God was in him to do justice. Moreover, he as at least one really close friend (named Zabud). And he spoke of trees, and hyssop that grows out of walls; and he spoke of beasts, and of birds, and of reptiles, and of fish.
One take away: For every ONE look you take at the politics and pressures of the world – take TWELVE looks at trees, hyssop, birds, and fish.
