- How do you feel about the fact that Nehemiah is grossly offending distinguished leaders (nobility and spiritual fathers) in this chapter? How do you feel about the fact that Jesus said really offensive things to venerable spiritual fathers and leaders? (see John 8:44 and all of Matthew 23).
- Have you ever tried to have a difficult and direct conversation with a patriarch or matriarch or an authority figure? Were they open to having an honest conversation (like God is all throughout the Psalms)? Or did they get offended and refuse to talk?
- How do you feel about Nehemiah’s conduct in this chapter? Do you think he’s being a bit extreme? Why or why not?
- What is something you feel really protective of? Why do you feel so strongly about this thing?
- In Matthew 25 Jesus talks about entering the joy of your Master. How have you thoroughly experienced the JOY of God?
