1. When was a time you agreed to something simply because you couldn’t bear to
   displease someone?
2. Can you admit that you’re cocky, and you’re a people-pleaser? If so, how have
   you experienced the liberating effects of admitting your failures (rather
   than concealing them) and fixating on the humiliation of Jesus (rather than
   esteeming yourself)? See 1 Corinthians 2:2
3. In what ways do you attempt to ‘prove yourself’, or conjure up your own
   self-made identity?
4. Where do you go to feel in control? When you feel overwhelmed, what do you do
   to cope?
5. Who are you desperately trying to impress or please? Why do you need this
   person’s approval so badly?
