Reflection Questions

  1. Where do your insecurities flare-up?
  2. Do you often feel that your identity and worth are “on the line,” or “being threatened”?
  3. Where do you anchor your identity? Is it sufficient to stabilize & sustain the weighty demands of your identity?
  4. How do you specifically struggle with ‘people-pleasing’? (*don’t forget that you are a person that you are inescapably tempted to please).
  5. What is the MOST PLEASING thing you can do for God? (see Jn 6:29; Gal. 4:6; Jn. 13:34-35; 17:22-24).
  6. Considering the trauma & abuse David suffered at the hands of Saul; and considering the trauma & abuse David inflicted on the family of Uriah… where do you suppose David would anchor his primary identity if it weren’t for his union with Christ?
