Sermon Text: Hebrews 4:14-5:14

Outline:

  1. The Mighty Mission of Weakness & Meekness
    1. Radical Sympathy
    2. Radical Submission
  2. Mealtime

Reflection Questions:

  1. Does this sound like Good News to you? (why or why not): “The dirty, burdensome, bloody work of Another guarantees your salvation if you’re desperate enough to stake your entire life on Him.”
  2. Consider your most severe, intense, and personal weaknesses and temptations. Do you believe that Jesus intimately and infinitely understands and sympathizes with what you’re going through? If you believe this, how is it helpful to you? If you don’t believe it, why won’t you?
  3. Where and when do you refuse to wait and submit? What’s a recent example of a time when you presumed upon a position or a privilege? Read Philippians 2:5-8 and ask yourself, “Is this dull OR is this the most dynamic – life dominating – news I’ve ever heard!”?
