Sermon Text: 2 Samuel 13:1-39

Outline:

  1. Raging Sin
  2. Ramifications & Response
  3. Longing for Restoration

Reflection Questions:

  1. How bad do you consider your sin to be? Are you a pretty good person who merely makes “mistakes” that are no big deal, or do you wickedly rebel against and violate the law of a perfectly holy God?
  2. What guilt or shame or fears are you repressing deep down and away from your conscious thoughts? What would Jesus have to say about those?
  3. How will you respond to your sin: by ignoring it or repenting of it? How will you respond to others’ sin: with vengeance or with forgiveness?
  4. What do you long for? What do you hope for? Where do you find satisfaction & rest?
